A police van is hit by Molotov cocktails while trying to back away from protesters. The action escalated the protest, causing the van to run over a protester during its escape and the police within it to abandon the vehicle down a side street.

Simon Bolivar Square
Protesters had shut down most of the traffic over the bridge and through Tahrir Square. In enforcing this closure, they occasionally disabled and burned government vehicles that ventured into the streets around the square.
